Job Description:
We are seeking a motivated and organized Fundraising Coordinator to join our team for a 9-week contract. The Fundraising Coordinator will be responsible for organizing and executing fundraising campaigns and events to support our clients in achieving their organizational missions.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute fundraising campaigns, including online campaigns and donor outreach
- Build relationships with donors and sponsors, including contacting them by phone, writing donor communications, and sending thank-you letters
- Manage fundraising databases and ensure accurate and up-to-date records
- Provide regular reports on fundraising progress and suggest new strategies to increase donations and engagement
- Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure successful fundraising efforts
- Grant research and writing
Qualifications:
- Must be a resident of Nova Scotia and legally able to work in Canada
- Must be between the ages of 15-30 (as this is a position funded by the Canada Summer Jobs program)
- Experience in fundraising, event planning, or related fields
- Undergraduate degree (or a combination of education and experience), preferably in Arts, Journalism, Education, Communications, Business, or equivalent
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent written skills, including grammar, syntax, spelling, punctuation, etc.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, take initiative, and prioritize responsibilities
- Comfortable using fundraising software and databases
- Experience with research, copywriting, online communications, and letter writing (grant writing, article writing, and other forms of writing may also be relevant)
- Experience making phone calls (especially fundraising and marketing calls)
- Highly skilled in computer programs, such as Word, Excel, PPT, Adobe, and Publisher
- Knowledgeable about and experience with online communication platforms (i.e., Teams, Zoom, Google Meet, etc.) and a variety of online applications (i.e., web, Google search, Google Docs, etc.)
- A passion for supporting social causes and working for a mission-driven organization
